Brass is a metallic alloy with the majority of its composition consisting of copper. The rest is usually composed of zinc, tin, lead, silicon or manganese depending on the application. Brass is used in decorative ornaments, shell casings, mechanical gears, ball bearings, doorknobs, zippers, and musical instruments.
